Perhaps I should write more low-effort blog posts.

Kanidm

I came across this blog post, Useless Software: kanidm.

It has 64 words, so I guess one can call it low-effort.

But it would have saved me an afternoon and a morning (with a weekend in between) of work, had I encountered it earlier.

And yes, in the end we ditched Kanidm for Authentik. Authentik wants 1GB of your RAM, but otherwise it’s okay.

I guess I fell prey to the “rewrite everything with Rust” thing. But ooh look, the cute crab! In SVG!

My blog

As one can tell from this website, I do not blog often.

In contrast to school, where one learns at least 4 new things per semester (if not per week), work is often mundane. In the words of a friend: you do it until you do it, and if you can’t, you tell them you can’t. (The friend works at tech consulting; your mileage may vary.)

So perhaps I should start writing more low-effort blog posts.

I can think of 2 sources:

  • My diary, which currently contain one or two “seeds” for blog posts; and
  • My bookmarks, where I collect interesting links from my daily dose of Hacker News.
